Topic 7 is something of an interlude between global crisis and macro policies and our upcoming discussions of institutions and policy issues in South Africa. The International Trade students were on their road trip this week, so for the risk management guys the topic was a class debate: Did the banks cause the financial crisis and should they be held accountable.
Here are a few links to some of the articles mentioned in my presentation:
- Finance’s crisis of ligitimacy.
- Robert Schiller’s speech to finance graduates.
- The Economist’s coverage of the LIBOR scandal, and “the rotten heart of finance”.
- MoneyWeb’s coverage of the Jibar system in South Africa.
And then there is the link to the Todaysmeet backchannel that we used. Thanks guys, there are some gems in there. We will do this more often.
